IRS Postpones Form 5498-SA Deadline Due to COVID-19 Pandemic
May 31, 2020 – Charlotte, NC – On May 28, 2020, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued IRS Notice 2020-35. This notice indicates that the due dates for various employment tax and benefit plan forms have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The deadline for Form 5498-SA, the form used to report total contributions made to a health savings account (HSA) in the prior tax year, has been postponed to August 31, 2020 from the original deadline of May 31, 2020.
