Changes to U.S. First-Class Mail Delivery Times May Affect Flores Participants
October 13, 2021 – Effective October 1, 2021, the United States Postal Service (USPS) has revised its service standards for certain First-Class Mail items, resulting in a delivery window of up to five days. Please note that this may delay receipt of mail from Flores and our receipt of mail from you or your participants. Please take this change into account, especially when enrolling new participants onto the Flores platform.
What You Can Do - Employers
Ensure that you provide Flores with information as timely as possible, especially in the case of a new enrollment which requires information to be mailed to a participant’s home address. If you haven't already, consider providing Flores with email addresses for your participants to allow for quicker delivery of communication. Encourage participants to sign up for direct deposit or to use the Flores Benefits Card, rather than wait for reimbursement by check in the mail.
What You Can Do – Participants
If you are enrolling in a Flores plan through your employer for the first time, you may experience delays receiving your Participant ID (PID) notice or Flore Benefits Card. If you do not receive your Flores Benefits Card by your plan year start date, you may file a claim for reimbursement for any services incurred while you wait to receive your card. Please consider signing up for direct deposit so you can receive reimbursements directly to your bank account rather than a check. Please consider electronic filing of your claims on our website, www.flores247.com, or free Flores Mobile app.
If you are on COBRA or in a COBRA election period, please continue to postmark your COBRA payments and election forms by the due dates specified on your invoice or election form or consider making payments online at www.flores247.com (nominal processing fees will apply). We will be unable to make exceptions for late payments due to mail delays.
As always, we appreciate your partnership.
